In Chaotic Patterns (2021), Natacha Donzé takes up the scientific view of natural phenomena, based on satellite images or thermal heat image measurements, and embeds them within her impenetrable visual world. With meticulous brushwork and air-brush technique, Donzé creates a dimensionless landscape within a dark background and in which thermal and astronomical images collide. Blurred orange-green nebulous clouds evoke both outer space and thermal imprints and traces. In the foreground, bright green particles float like ash on the canvas’ surface, framed by a red band at the bottom of the image. Chaotic Patterns is part of the eponymous work series, one work of which is currently exhibited at the Musée des Beaux Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds as part of Natacha Donzé's solo exhibition "Festins". The title Chaotic Patterns refers to chaos theory, which searches for underlying patterns and interconnections within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems of our times.
