Collectors, researchers and enthusiasts search the registry to find artworks wherever they are, while ownership remains private.
Collect24 works alongside gallery management systems and marketplaces. Such platforms can check whether a work is already known in the registry and retrieve its Collect24 Art ID; if the work is new, it is registered and receives a Collect24 Art ID straight away. The other direction works too: registry records and enquiries can be pushed back into a gallery management system or marketplace.

Art shouldn't disappear when it enters a private collection.
Most important artworks spend only a fraction of their life in public view. Once a work leaves a museum wall or a gallery exhibition, it often becomes invisible — untraceable for researchers, curators and the people who love it.
