Open access data, ingested properly
We harvest published collection data — REST APIs, GraphQL, IIIF, OAI-PMH or Europeana — and map it to permanent Collect24 records with artist, title, year, medium and dimensions. No manual data entry on your side.
Licence and credit line preserved
Every image keeps its licence, credit line and a link back to your own object page. Public domain stays labelled public domain; anything that is not clearly reusable is referenced, not copied.
A profile you can claim today
Institution profiles are marked as unclaimed until someone from the museum takes them over. Claiming is a short form on your own profile page; we verify it against your institutional e-mail domain.
What claiming gives you now
Control of the description, city, website, logo and cover image, correction of artist attributions and titles, and the ability to register works that are not in your open data — including works with no image.
Clearly marked as an institutional collection
Museum, foundation, estate and public collection works are labelled as such, never as private holdings, with city and country shown. Visitors always see where a work is held.
Searchable inside your own collection
Your profile page has its own search and filters across artist, medium and period, so a visitor can find one painting among thousands without leaving the registry.
Artist pages with real context
Your holdings appear on the artist page beside gallery and privately held works, with a sourced biography — useful for researchers, curators, loan requests and exhibition preparation.
Traffic back to you
Every record links to your object page and website. Discovery happens in the registry; the visit ends on your own site.
Certificates and provenance
Registered works can be issued as a printable A4 Certificate of Registration with a QR code to the public page, and each record carries a public provenance and exhibition history you control.

How it works.
We ingest or you register
If you publish open data, we map it to registry records. If you do not, you can register works yourself once your profile is claimed.
You claim the profile
Fill in the claim form on your institution page with your name, role and institutional e-mail. We verify the domain and hand over control.
You curate what is shown
Correct attributions, add a proper description, choose the cover image and decide which works appear publicly.
You tell us what is missing
Loan status, exhibition data, rights statements, bulk editing — what institutions ask for is what we build next.
Claiming never transfers rights in your data or images. It gives your staff editorial control over how the institution is represented in the registry.
Certificate of Registration
Documentation for every record.
Any registered work can be issued as a printable A4 Certificate of Registration: artist, title, year, medium, dimensions, the institution as current collection, the unique Collect24 Art ID and a QR code that resolves to the public artwork page.
It prints without a background colour, so it can go on your own paper — useful for loan files, condition dossiers, depot labelling and long-term deposits.

Works from institutions such as the National Gallery of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rijksmuseum, SMK, Paris Musées and KMSKA are already part of the registry through their open access programmes. If yours is listed, you can claim it; if it is not, we would like to add you.

Collect24 is free for museums, foundations, estates and public collections — no subscription, no fee per record.
What we ask instead is your feedback. Tell us what a registry should do for a collection department — rights statements, loan status, exhibition histories, bulk corrections, harvesting endpoints — and it goes straight to the people building it. Use the feedback button in the corner of any page; it reaches us directly.
If paid plans are ever introduced, institutions already on the platform will be told well in advance and keep everything that has been registered.
