Collect24 is built on a simple principle: the artwork can be public, the owner remains private. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the steps we take to protect your data.

By using Collect24 — whether you browse the registry, register an artwork or manage a collection — you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Account information: when you create an account we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide one, your name.

Collection information: images, artwork details, provenance notes, documents, purchase history and any other information you choose to add to your private collection. This information is owned by you and is never shared publicly unless you explicitly choose to publish it.

Public registry information: details about artworks that have been made discoverable, such as artist, title, year, medium, dimensions, images and the collection or institution that holds the work.

Usage data: information about how you interact with the platform, such as pages visited, searches performed and features used. This helps us improve the service.

Device and technical data: browser type, IP address, device information and cookies. This data is used for security, analytics and to keep the platform running smoothly.

To provide the Collect24 service: maintaining your account, displaying artworks, enabling registry searches and supporting collection management.

To keep ownership private: we use strict access controls and privacy settings to make sure that owner identity and sensitive collection details remain visible only to you.

To improve the platform: understanding which features are used and how visitors navigate the registry helps us make Collect24 more useful.

To communicate with you: sending account updates, service notices and, if you opt in, product or content updates.

To ensure security: detecting suspicious activity, preventing abuse and protecting both user accounts and the integrity of the registry.

Publicly visible information is limited to what you or another rights holder choose to publish. For artworks that are made discoverable, this typically includes the artist, artwork title, year, medium, dimensions, description, images and the current collection or institution holding the work.

Private information is never shown publicly. This includes your name, email address, location, purchase price, purchase date, invoices, certificates, insurance details and private notes. This information is stored securely and only accessible to you when you are signed in.

We do not sell your personal information or your collection data to third parties.

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform, such as hosting, database, analytics and email services. These providers only process data on our behalf and under strict confidentiality obligations.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of Collect24, our users or the public.

Collect24 uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and understand how the platform is used.

We use analytics tools to measure traffic and behaviour in the registry. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

We keep your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it for legal or operational reasons.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the effective date and notify users where appropriate. Continued use of Collect24 after changes means you accept the revised policy.
