Terms of use

API access does not grant rights to redistribute copyrighted images or other third-party content. Records in the registry may carry rights and licensing restrictions from the originating gallery, museum, artist or open-access programme, and you remain responsible for complying with them.

Keys are server-to-server credentials: keep them out of browser bundles, mobile apps and public repositories. Respect the rate limit on your key, retry politely with backoff, and never attempt to infer private or owner-level information from the public projection.
