The neon light work “Sage Serpent” shows a yellow glowing snake's body. Niko Abramidis &NE humanizes the snake by adding a smoking cigarette as an attribute. Its recurring shape can also be found in earlier paintings and drawings, which he has now transferred into the spatial. It plays with the aesthetics of logos and neon signs, which have begun to characterize the urban world, especially in the course of modernism. As a symbol, the snake is associated with both good and bad qualities, but the way Abramidis &NE presents it here in luminous glass, it stands for wisdom and knowledge.
