In “Rose Cut in Rock” (2025), Cook further develops her repetitive working method. She creates an abstract cloverleaf shape on a black walnut wood panel. Parts of the surface are inlaid with resin, reminiscent of folkloric patterns but highly abstracted. The aluminum-cast meat hook, whose tip protrudes from a small flower, is a recurring motif in her work. Cook multiplies, casts, and replicates the forms, reworks them, and alters their surfaces, transforming familiar objects into new visual constellations. Material, technique, and the repeated transformation of forms form the core of her approach.
