Niko Abramidis &NE transfers spontaneous drawings into robust material in his wall sculptures made of water jet-cut marble. In doing so, he draws on specially developed characters that originate from his cosmos of fictional financial ventures. Works such as Vision Mollusca, Thunderbolt, and Dystopian Talisman are symbolic of our economic systems, which are located in a parallel world. The wall piece Dystopian Talisman refers with a wink to global events and dystopian news that reach us every day. The water-jet-cut marble in the shape of the Greek letter omega - symbolic of the end and here just opening its eyes - is a reminder that every end point is always followed by a beginning. The talisman, which is said to have magical powers and auspicious properties, looks full of optimism and with its friendly face hints at a promising future.
