"sleepwalk I" (2023) is part of a series inspired by vandalism, civil unrest, and actions that disrupt existing situations. The canvases of this two-part work are covered with structures reminiscent of shattered windows, as if struck by stones. The expression of this violent action is superimposed on the uniformity of the background, which resembles a cosmic horizon. The overlapping shapes and lines create an effect of depth. In "sleepwalk I", the foreground in the architectural context becomes the shattered glass pane, resembling neuronal networks on a microscopic scale. Donzé engages in a play between micro and macro levels, creating multiple layers of observation and uniting fragments from various visual worlds to deconstruct power structures within institutional, political, and scientific systems, placing them within broader cosmological contexts. "sleepwalk I" was created on the occasion of the Swiss Art Awards 2023, for which Natacha Donzé was awarded.
