Niko Abramidis &NE's works often have their conceptual background in separate worlds: past and future, business and fiction, technology and poetry. In Global Desert (2017) two symbolisms from different times seem to collide: A globe resembling a company logo, floating in a continuous color field, on which three pyramids are embroidered. The pyramids, evoking associations with Masonic conspiracies, stand out on the canvas with their strong shadow. At the same time, the symbol of worldwide networking above them is swallowed by the ground. Since the antique, ancient buildings have survived through many crises, while global corporations are becoming less and less stable over time.
