Niko Abramidis &NE's work C.R.E.A.M (2021) glows in green neon letters and stands as an acronym for the saying "Cash Rules Everything Around Me" which is frequently quoted in pop culture. This was first used in a song 1993 by the New York rappers Wu-Tang Clan as a reference to the influence of possessions and money in their everyday lives, oscillating between materialism and system criticism. Acronyms as common abbreviations of idioms are ubiquitous in everyday digital exchanges and can be read like simple encrypted codes. In his works, Niko Abramidis &NE repeatedly resorts to similar naming systems and abbreviations, which are also used by financial companies, for example, to suggest efficiency and productivity and to shape digital language. Thus, through the neon light, C.R.E.A.M appears like a logo or a neon sign that refers to a product and at the same time immerses the surrounding space in a mystical atmosphere.
