Motivering: Industrimiljö, träindustrisamhälle som i väl avgränsat koncentrat belyser olika utvecklingsfaser av den norrländska träindustrins samhällsbyggande. - Uttryck för riksintresset: Bostadskaserner, typiska för 1800-talets tidiga ångsågsepok samt arkitektoniskt högststående bebyggelse av arbetar- och tjänstemannabostäder till den år 1906 anlagda sulfitfabriken.
