Briggen Gerda sjösattes från O. A. Brodins skeppsvarv i Gävle den 28 oktober 1868 och blev klar våren 1869. Det är en ideell förening som byggt Briggen Gerda Gefle. Arbetet startade 1993 som ett arbetsmarknadsprojekt. Idag är det ca 70 personer som arbetar varje dag på Gerda varav 12 är anställda. Till det kommer ett 30-tal från föreningen som jobbar ideellt. Målsättningen för verksamheten fram till utgången av år 2006 är att: * Bygga färdigt Gerda Gefle. * Segla och nyttja Gerda Gefle året runt. * Säkerställa kompetens inom skeppsbyggnad för bevarande av traditionellt träskeppsbygge. * Säker…
