Arkitekter som Gustaf Lindgren, Gunnar Asplund, Sigurd Lewerentz och Lars Israel Wahlman utvecklade tillsammans Norra begravningsplatsen till en av landets mest imponerande och innehållsrika anläggningar. Det finns många skulpturer, reliefer och andra konstnärliga utsmyckningar som är skapade av några av vårt lands mest framstående skulptörer, till exempel Carl Eldh och Carl Milles. Arkitekt Jan Wahlman har formgett minneslunden som invigdes 1978. På minneslundens smycknings- och meditationsplats finns en skulpturgrupp av Anita Bruzewitz-Hansson som heter Musik i grenverk.
