Acc.nr 2001-83-5-6. Byggherre Gustav Vasa. Var från början avsett som en försvarsanläggning mot danska anfall. Byggdes så småningom om till residens för Gustav Vasas son Magnus, hertig av Östergötland. Johan III lät bygga om slottet och förvandla det till ett elegant renäsansslott. I början av 1700-talet upphörde slottet att vara bostad för kungligheter. Nu inryms Landsarkivet och även turistbyrån.
