Walter Olson föddes i Örebro 26 januari 1900. Han utbildade sig till fotograf och 28 år gammal kom han till Kalmar. Här köpte han systrarna Winells ateljé på Södra Långgatan 26. Där etablerade han den firma dit Kalmars befolkning gick för att fotografera sig. Hans porträttjournal omfattar 77000 namn under 40 år. Man kan följa personers förvandling från ungdom via vuxen till gammal genom de bilder Olson tog och man kan följa familjer genom tre generationer. Walter Olson hade flera strängar på sin lyra. Han var pressfotograf då tidningarna inte hade egna fotografer. Hände något ringde man stade…
