Det avfotograferade fotot är taget av hovfotograf Walter Olson i Kalmar till kyrkoherde Stenholms 60-årsdag 1957. Allan Bernving föddes 1911. Han skildrade Öland i ord och bild under de decennier när landet förändrades; främst 1950- och 1960-talen. Bernvings intresse för historia och lokala företeelser ledde till att han fotograferade stort och smått; ofta sådant som han förstod var nära att försvinna eller sådant som var nyheter.
