Sträckningsbild av Karl Johansgatan mot öster, i höjd med Karl Johanskyrkan. Fotografen har stått på balkong/i fönster Allmänna vägen 52. Längs Karl Johansgatan norra sida syns nr 32 den tidigare prästbostaden för Karl johans församling, i bildens mitt Bryggeriet Kronan. Ute vid älven anas Amerikaskjulet. I bildens övre högra hörn ligger Masthuggskyrkan. I nedre högra hörnet ser man John E Olsons plats (före detta Bataljonsparken och Lek- och Viloplatsen). I parkens övre kant syns Eric Grates Bergslagurna, ett av 10 exemplar från 1921-1922. Ett exemplar finns på Göteborgs konstmuseum.
