Apoteket Lejonet, interiör. Stortorget 8, kvarter 48 Claus Mortensen. Den 24 oktober 1821 erhöll apotekare Johan Fredrik Barkman från Eksjö priviligebrev att anlägga ett nytt apotek i Malmö och den 1 oktober 1822 öppnades apoteket lejonet i huset Nr 8 (gammalt nummer) Stortorget, kvarteret Lejonet, vilken fastighet Barkman samma år inköpt av handlanden J.B. Friedberg. Här var apoteket Lejonet inrymt till år1908 då det flyttades till Stortorget 14 (gammal nummer), kvarter 48 Claus Mortensen. - Fornminnesföreningen 1927.
