Utsikt från S:t Petri kyrktorn mot norr. Bruksgatans mynning i Norra Vallgatan, huset i förgrunden är det Runnerströmska, benämnt efter grosshandlaren och preussiske konsuln Henrik Runnerström som köpte fastigheten 1845, samt i mitten av bilden står det magnigfika magasin i fyra våningar som Runnerström lät uppföra 1846. Bilden är tagen före 14 december 1866, ty det datum brann 1856 års järnvägsstation ned. Fotografen har stått uppe i lanterninen på Petrikyrkans tornhuv, den norra öppningen.
