Stadsbyggnadsutställningens Svenska avdelning visar ett modellkök skapat efter föregående diskussioner om standardisering. Inblandade i utarbetandet var bl a Kommitén för standardisering av byggnadsmaterial, Sveriges snickerifabrikanter, Sveriges Husmodersförening och Svenska Slöjdföreningen. Den utställda kökstypen visar ett förslag på standardisering som lämpade sig för mindre lägenheter i hyreshusfastigheter. Köket skulle fylla 3 funktioner, matlagning, intagande av måltider och under natten skulle kunna användas som sovrum.
