Pirmą kartą Amerikon Kimtienė išvyko dar netekėjusi. Nuotraukoje užfiksuotas antrasis jos išvykimas į Ameriką 1919-aisiais. 1914 metais ji su vaikais grįžo aplankyti tėvų. Vėl išvykti sutrukdė kilęs Pirmasis pasaulinis karas. Karo metais ji gyveno pas Kęstavičius Džiuginėnuose, Zakiškėje.
