Knygnešio, aušrininko, visuomenininko bei tautosakos rinkėjo Mato Slančiausko (1850–1924) dukterys.Fotografijoje matomos trys iš jų, nors knygnešys turėjo keturias – Kristiną, Jadvygą, Elžbietą, Anelę.Jos, siekiant, kad nebūtų įkalintos kartu su tėvu (už lietuviškos literatūros platinimą), persikėlė į Ameriką. Būdamos studentėmis, M. Slančiausko dukterys įsitraukė į judėjimą už moterų teises (ant dėvimų drabužių matomi įrašai „Votes for Women“).
