Gamtos skyriuje 1932 m. buvo eksponuojama apie 120 Biržų apylinkėse sumedžiotų paukščių ir gyvūnų. Muziejaus tarnautojas Mykolas Staškevičius juos pats medžiojo ar gyventojų atneštus rūpestingai iškimšdavo. Muziejaus lankytojų skaičius išaugo penkis kartus, kai gamtos ekspoziją papildė 176 kg sveriančio šerno iškamša, 1929 m. užmušto per Kalėdas Pačeriaukštės dvaro darbininkų J.Grigonio ir R.Kundzinio.
