A view overlooking the interior of the city. In the center is a paved road leading to the Daqing (or Zhonghua) Gate with three arches. To the immediate left is the Tianan Gate or Gate of Heavenly Peace, the entrance to the Imperial City. The road is bordered on three sides by long narrow buildings and a fence. Surrounding this area are densely packed houses.
