Titel: Saikyô-maru i hård strid vid Haiyangtao (Kaiyôtô oki Saikyômaru funsen no zu / Saikyô-maru in a Hard Fight Near Haiyangtao) Saikyô-maru blev attackerad av kineserna från land och bombarderad från andra hållet. En av de kinesiska torpedbåtarna närmade sig plötsligt Saikyô-maru framifrån och avlossade två torpeder. De missade eftersom Saikyô-maru just då åkte i full fart. En av torpederna sägs ha passerat under Saikyô-maru och kommit upp på andra sidan.
