Kasamatsu Shirô. (1898-1991). Dimmig kväll vid Shinobazu-dammen, Tokyo. Träsnitt. Ursprungsår 1932. Liksom en del äldre träsnittskonstnärer syns ofta regn, snö och andra väderuttryck skapa en atmosfär i Kasamatsu Shiros bilder. Konstnären gjorde bilder av både typen ”nya” (shin hanga) och ”kreativa tryck” (sosaku hanga), de senare under 1950-60-talet. Denna bild var så populär att det gjordes många nytryck av den under 1930-40-talet. Träsnitt. Signatur och stämpel: Shiro. Bekesy-189. /PH
