View of a man standing at one end of a bridge leading towards a small village. The man leans against a wood post in the bridge railing and holds a parasol, or oil-paper umbrella, over one shoulder. A tachidoro, or stone pedestal lantern, stands at the far end of the bridge on the left side and features Japanese inscriptions on part of the base. Several people can be seen moving about on the dirt road that runs from the bridge through the village.
