De tekening is de enige afbeelding van de oude constructie van de sluis in het Meertje. In het gebouwtje links bevond zich waarschijnlijk een door paardenkracht aangedreven bewegingsmechaniek van de schotten. Op de sluis zijn mensen met herstelwerkzaamheden bezig. Achter de sluis de Belvedere, de Hunnerpoort en het Valkhof.
