I Arrange the Stars takes the form of a lotus, a symbol of transformation. Its exterior is covered in defined pattern as a representation of a habitual individual self . When we look inside, we find something more expansive than the exterior: a view of the cosmos . The mosaic that represents the fabric of the night is free of pattern , offering endless possibility. Woven within the night sky are the constellations of my natal chart. Th e lotus's crucible of transformation forces t his vast and yet personal landscape into the stillness of a black hole. The form of this piece is based on the round m andala offering pan, with the stand as the pan and the mosaic elements , jewels, and glass spheres as the offerings. The act of arranging these elements serves as a form of meditation and reminds us that our experience of the world is merely an arrangement of our attention and intention.
