Renate Scholz (1919–1999) posiert als einziges Kind von Carla Scholz (geb. Hartmann) und Dr. William Scholz, Direktor der Deutschen Werft AG, von ihrem ersten Lebensjahr an regelmäßig vor der Kamera. So dokumentiert das Studio Diez-Dührkoop bis in die 1930er Jahre das Heranwachsen der jungen Frau, die später in Romanistik promovieren wird. Die Fotografin Minya Diez-Dührkoop (1873–1929) hat schon als 15-Jährige begonnen im Hamburger Atelier ihres Vaters, Rudolf Dührkoop, mitzuarbeiten.
