In zwei Folio-Bänden mit 220 Bildtafeln gab der britische Naturforscher Mark Catesby zwischen 1729 und 1747 The Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands heraus. Sie beinhaltet neben der Abbildung von Vögeln und Fischen auch Schlangen und Insekten. Nachstiche des aufwendigen und zoologisch interessanten Werks entstanden durch George Edwards, J.C. Sepp und auch Johann Michael Seligmann in Nürnberg. Das Blatt zeigt einen auf einem belaubten Ast sitzenden Vogel mit schwarz-rotem Gefieder und einer kleinen Haube. Unterhalb des Tiers eine aus der Schale quellende bräunliche Frucht.
