Bildnis eines Soldaten mit graublauem Helm im Dreiviertelprofil. Die handschriftliche Notiz von fremder Hand auf dem Blatt stammt von Dr. Eduard Schoneweg (1886–1969). Er war von 1925 bis 1947 Direktor des Städtischen Museums in Bielefeld. Ab 1933 war er Mitglied der NSDAP und führte das Museum im Sinne der nationalsozialistischen Ideologie. 1945 wurde er vom Dienst suspendiert. Während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus wurden mindestens 92 Kunstwerke von Peter August Böckstiegel in deutschen Museen als "entartet" beschlagnahmt.
