Perseus, der eine Ritterrüstung mit Helm und geschlossenem Visier trägt, reicht der nackten Andromeda von hinten ein Manteltuch. Die Königstochter steht auf dem mit einem Schwert getöteten Drachen. Um ihr linkes Handgelenk ist eine Handfessel befestigt, deren Ketten durchtrennt sind. Die Radierung nimmt das Motiv des gleichnamigen großformatigen Ölgemäldes, heute im Museum Georg Schäfer in Schweinfurt, wieder auf, das Corinth im Jahr 1900 schuf.
