Intimes Brustbild nach halblinks von Mary Marshall (1864-1936), Tochter des Malers James Marshall (1838-1901), der in Weimar ausgebildet, 1870 nach Dresden ging und 1878 nach Breslau an die dortige Kunst- und Gewerbeschule ging. Da die Dargestellte Mary Marshall auf dem Porträt mindestens zehn Jahre alt ist, gehört das Bildnis in die Dresdner Zeit. Damals war die Genre- und Porträtmalerin Malerin Auguste Ludwig (1834-1909) Schülerin bei Julius Scholtz, 1880 ging sie nach Düsseldorf, die letzten Jahre lebte sie in Berlin. Ankauf aus Berliner Privatbesitz für das Märkische Museum. Bez. re. o. "A. Ludwig / 75" undeutlich. Nicht im Bestandskatalog I,1 oder II.
