Enamelled rivet

This rivet, consisting of an iron shaft and a copper-alloy head decorated with red enamel, was used to fasten and decorate elements of horse harnesses or parts of a chariot. It illustrates both the craftsmanship of Late Iron Age artisans and the importance of equestrian equipment. (Inventory no. 2017.34.3321.2, Bibracte Museum)
