Amalie von Stubenrauch wurde in München zur Schauspielerin ausgebildet. Ab 1829 trat sie ein Engagement am Hoftheater in Stuttgart an, wo sie insbesondere für ihre Interpretation dramatischer Rollen sehr geschätzt wurde. Bekannt ist sie heute vor allem für ihre langjährige, enge Verbindung mit König Wilhelm I. von Württemberg. Die Lithografie von Franz Schnorr zeigt sie in Halbfigur in Dreiviertelansicht, in der rechten Hand einen Fächer haltend. Das Porträt ist in einem Interieur situiert; links im Hintergrund ist ein Fenster zu sehen, rechts ein Schrank sowie eine Blumenkonsole.
