1846 zeichnete Bonaventura Weiss ein Porträt des Freiherrn August Friedrich von Hügel, das als Vorlage für diese Lithografie diente. Der Sohn des württembergischen Generalleutnants August Ferdinand von Hügel ist stehend in Halbfigur gezeigt, in einen Militärrock gekleidet. Der Körper wird von einer Schraffur im Hintergrund konturiert und ist nach rechts ins Halbprofil gedreht. Den linken Arm hat der Dargestellte in die Hüfte gestützt. Der Druck der Grafik wurde von Gottfried Küstner vorgenommen. Sie ist auf ein Trägerblatt kaschiert, das unten in der Mitte in schwarzer Tinte mit "AugustFrhrvonHügel." bezeichnet wurde.
