Der Inschrift zufolge zeichnete Friedrich Fleischmann den Porträtierten, Fürst Gebhard Leberecht Blücher von Wahlstatt, im Juni 1814 in London und übertrug die Vorlage später in einen Stich. Gezeigt ist der Feldmarschall in Halbfigur, in einer mit Orden und Auszeichnungen dekorierten Uniform. Die Darstellung seines nach rechts gewendeten Körpers ist nach unten hin abgerundet, und auch der dunkel schraffierte Hintergrund läuft bogenförmig aus, so dass die Darstellung eine ovale Kontur erhält. Der Stich erschien bei Friedrich Campe in Nürnberg.
