Die Lithografie gehört zu einer Reihe von 65 Porträts der Abgeordneten der Frankfurter Nationalversammlung von 1848/49. Sie wurde 1848 in der S. Schmerber'schen Buchhandlung in Frankfurt am Main verlegt. Die zeichnerische Vorlage für das Blatt schuf Valentin Schertle 1849 nach einer Fotografie von Hermann Biow. Sie zeigt den preußischen Rechtswissenschaftler und Politiker Georg Beseler im Halbprofil. Der nach rechts gewendete Körper läuft v-förmig aus. Unterhalb des Porträts ist die Unterschrift Beselers als Faksimile abgedruckt.
