Das Blatt ist Teil einer Porträtserie, die die Abgeordneten der Frankfurter Nationalversammlung von 1848/49 zeigt. Sie erschien im Verlag der S. Schmerber'schen Buchhandlung in Frankfurt am Main. Der von Valentin Schertle signierten Porträtzeichnung lag eine Fotografie Hermann Biows zugrunde; dargestellt ist der bayerische Regierungsbeamte Hermann von Beisler in Halbfigur, stehend mit vor der Brust verschränkten Armen, den Körper leicht nach rechts aus der Bildachse gedreht.
