Die Aquatinta zeigt das kreisförmig eingefasste Porträt eines Grafen von Beroldingen. Er ist im Profil von links vor dunklem Hintergrund im Brustausschnitt dargestellt. Der Inschrift unterhalb des Porträts zufolge wurde die Radierung mit einem Physionotrace, einem Gerät zur Aufzeichnung von Profilporträts, vorbereitet. Das Blatt ist unten in Bleistift bezeichnet: "M. le Comte de Beroldingen". Möglicherweise handelt es sich bei dem Dargestellten um den württembergischen Außenminister Graf Joseph Ignaz von Beroldingen (1780-1868) oder um den Kammerherrn und Oberforstmeister Graf Franz Clemens von Beroldingen (1791-1864).
