Das Porträt des Stuttgarter Architekten Christian Friedrich von Leins erschien im August 1892 in der Zeitschrift "Der Sammler" als Teil eines Nachrufs. Es wurde von einem Text in drei Spalten begleitet, der um das in ein Oval einbeschriebene Bild gruppiert war und das Werk des Architekten würdigte. Von Leins ist im Brustausschnitt im Dreiviertelprofil von rechts vor getöntem Hintergrund gezeigt, den Blick geradeaus gerichtet. Das Blatt wurde in ein Passepartout eingeklebt, um dessen Fensterausschnitt mit braunem Stift ein Rahmen gezeichnet wurde.
