Sowohl die Zeichnung von Ferdinand Jagemann als auch deren Umsetzung als Lithografie durch Joseph Lanzedelly d. Ä. datieren aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Sie bezeugen die Bedeutung, die Johannes Reuchlin, einem Humanisten und Hebraisten der Renaissance, auch von späteren Generationen beigemessen wurde. Sein Porträt ist in ein Oval einbeschrieben; es zeigt den Dargestellten als Halbfigur bis zur Brust mit frontal ausgerichtetem Körper, den Kopf nach rechts gewendet, mit einem Gelehrtenmantel bekleidet.
