Die Lithografie beruht auf einer Zeichnung von Bonaventura Weiß, dessen Signatur spiegelverkehrt im Blatt erscheint. Verlegt wurde dieses bei J. C. Seitz in Ulm. Zu sehen ist das halbfigurige Porträt des Rechtsgelehrten August Ludwig Reyscher, stehend, die linke Hand unter den Aufschlag seines Überrocks geschoben, Kopf und Blick den Betrachtenden zugewandt. Unterhalb des Porträts wurde ein Zitat Reyschers niedergeschrieben: "Man spricht jezt so viel von Nation und nationalem / Bewußtseyn; und fragt ihr die Bewußten nach des / Volkes Art und Gesezen: siehe so ist am eigenen / Herde Keiner zu Haus. / L. Reyscher."
