Collé en plein sur papier beige. La ville d'Ath, abandonnée par les Espagnols, fut prise le 19 juin 1667 par l'armée de Louis XIV qui venait de quitter trois jours auparavant la forteresse de Charleroi. Cédée à la France en 1668 (traité d'Aix-la-Chapelle), la place fut rendue à l'Espagne dix ans plus tard lors du traité de Nimègue.
