Bildnis eines Jungen aus Süditalien. Feine, altmeisterlich anmutende Maltechnik. Der aus Frankenthal stammende Willich, u.a. Schüler von Jakob Schlesinger an der Berliner Akademie und von Moritz v. Schwind an der Münchner Akademie, war 1857 bei Anselm Feuerbach in Italien zu Besuch. Von 1858-1861 lebte er in Rom und verdiente sich seinen Lebensunterhalt als Porträtmaler. Seit 1861 arbeitete Willich als Maler in München, wo er 1886 starb.
