Die von Caspar Obach gezeichnete Lithografie zeigt eine Ansicht von Cannstatt. Sowohl die am südlichen Neckarufer gelegene Altstadt mit Stadtkirche und Rathaus sowie die nördlich des Flusses gelegene Vorstadt sind dargestellt, wo am linken Blattrand das Wilhelmatheater liegt. Den gesamten Vordergrund nimmt die Eisenbahnbrücke über den Neckar ein, die sich auf zahlreichen über Rundbogen verbundene Brückenpfeiler über den Fluss spannt.
