Es handelt sich um eine nahsichtige Natur- und Pflanzenstudie, an den Ecken genadelt. 1886 und 1889 datierte Gemälde mit einem ähnlichen Blick in ein Waldinneres mit Farn markieren den Zeitpunkt, vor welchem diese Studie entstanden sein wird. Das Blatt ist unbezeichnet und ohne spätere Nummerierung. Die Zeichnung wird hier erstmals publiziert. Sie gelangte 1983 mit dem Nachlass von Margarethe Schweitzer in die Sammlung. Literatur: Vgl.
