Das Kostüm des Donaueschinger Hansel besteht aus drei Teilen: der Kappe (Haubentuch) mit Maske, der Jacke und der Hose. Es fehlen der Fuchsschwanz, das Foulard (Seidentuch), die weißen Handschuhe sowie der Schirm. Das auch als "Häs" bezeichnete Narrenkostüm ist geprägt von den bunten (Tier)Motiven des handbemalten weißgrundigen Leinengewandes (Kappe, Kittel und Hose) sowie von der Rokokomaske mit freundlichem Gestus. Traditionell ist diese Glattlarve aus Lindenholz geschnitzt und trägt der höfischen Mode entsprechen einen Knebelbart.
